Its an ordinary sunset but i love how it signals that its time to slow down.  Even the sea calmed down to give way to the grand show of the day.

While lazing under a tree on one of our favorite islands, I chanced upon this group of Japanese laughing and doing silly poses on the beach. These are just one of the everyday scenes in almost all the islands here in the Philippines.  I can’t help but smile as I watch them enjoying their summer romp.

So, what’s an island gal to do during summer? Well, look for another island!

This island is off Cebu,  it is actually located in Bohol, just 45 minutes away from Mactan, you’d think its part of Cebu.

I haven’t posted in  4 long months. Many changes. I can’t complain. Its 2011… new decade, new chapter, new episode, new beginning.  I’m enjoying my life, thus the solitude.

It’s been a crazy busy few weeks for me and I’m trying to catch up with a very busy household and two very BUSY grade school kids. We just moved to our new house last month and things were pretty hectic after that. Then suddenly, I find myself preparing for the holidays. I know, its not related to the photo above.

I saw this in my photo archive and find the details rather interesting. If you want to know more about the photo, please do visit tomorrow and I’ll tell you.

Though not a usual sighting here in Cebu, (but it could be anywhere in the world  anyway) intricate tattoos like this are usually worth a second look. One of my best buddies, a true-blue fashionista, thought that a pair of lacy gloves henna tattoo will make a lasting impression. As usual, her gothic/glam street chic fashion instinct never fails to predict such and it literally became a conversation “piece” that night!

I find body art interesting yet I’m not fond of tattoos and I’m not even considering of having one on any part of my body. I haven’t  tried henna tattoo but since Halloween is just around the corner, perhaps this time, I’ll try it.  I must say, I’m venturing through the wilderness… in a milder way.

Be inspired. This is Cebu! Welcome!

After witnessing an event that shook the whole country, I detoxed myself from the vicious remarks I read on Facebook and other favorite blogs.  I held myself from making any comments – I promised not to use my site as an instrument to spread hatred. We are sad, we grieve for the victims but we will not fuel hatred as if what transpired is a reflection of the whole country.  I’m saying this because I cannot believe how some “kababayan” thought that its a case that can only happen in the Philippines.

I will not deny that there were mistakes committed by the police, media,  the government and even the usiseros. We cannot ignore those things. The drama was a criminal case that was under the command responsibility of the Mayor of the City of Manila and not of the President, not even you or me.  Let’s be clear about that.

We should not, will not let the world define us by this horrible event.  I just cannot accept the way some people think that its the fault of the whole nation. How backward. How stupid to think that way.

My faith in this country will never falter. I love my country, I love my city and I am proud to be called a Filipino.

One day, while looking through a display window, I saw the white rabbit waving and smiling at me. Curious.
